Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water. Stir to dissolve the yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until the mixture becomes foamy.
  2. Add the flour and salt to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. You can also knead the dough with a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment.
  4. Form the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover the bowl with a damp towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, until it doubles.
