MG motors recently launched its affordable electric car which is MG Comet EV. This electric car is available in three variants such as Pace, Play and Plush. MG Comet EV has a 17.3kWh battery pack and the company claims a range of 230 Km in single charge.

This electric car is rear wheel drive and the motor produces a power of 42PS and 110Nm torque. It takes up to 7 hours to charge the battery fully.

MG Comet EV is a two door car which has features like LED headlights and taillights, integrated digital screen setup (10.25-inch unit each for infotainment and instrumentation) with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and over 55 connected car features, and keyless entry.

It also includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors, reverse parking camera and rear parking sensors. Seating capacity of this electric car is 4 persons.

Tata Tiago EV is the most affordable electric car in India as it allows 5 person capacity and top features. It is also the cheapest electric car from Tata Motors.

This electric hatchback has four variant options, which include XE, XT, XZ+, and XZ+ Tech LUX.

Tata Tiago EV is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor and it is available in two battery pack options: 19.2kWh and 24kWh. The 19.2kWh battery pack provides 61PS/110Nm and  a range of 250 KM and the 24kWh battery pack provides 75PS/114Nm and a range of 315 KM.

This electric car has features such as a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a four-speaker Harman sound system with four tweeters, and auto AC. It also gets rain-sensing wipers, steering-mounted controls, and cruise control.

This electric car also has safety features like dual front airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ABS with EBD and a rear-view camera.

Tata Tigor EV is the second most affordable electric car from Tata Motors. This is a compact sedan electric car which is available in four variants such as XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux.

Tata Motors used the Ziptron EV platform for this electric car and it has a 26 kWh battery pack which powers an electric motor. The motor produces power of 75PS and 170Nm torque. The battery pack can be charged to 80 per cent in 8.5 hours using a standard wall charger and in 60 minutes using a 25kW DC fast charger.

Tata Tigor EV is equipped with a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with four speakers, multi-mode regenerative braking, cruise control, auto AC, height-adjustable driver seat and connected car tech.

According to the safety features it has dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a tyre puncture repair kit, hill ascent/descent control, and a rear-view camera.

Tata Tigor EV is priced between Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom).

 

Mahindra XUV 400

 

Mahindra recently launched its first compact electric SUV which is the Mahindra XUV 400. This is an electric version of the Mahindra XUV 300. This electric SUV is available in two variants:  EC and EL.

Mahindra XUV 400 EV comes with two battery pack options: 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh. The battery powers an electric motor which generates 150PS and 310Nm. The claimed range for both types of battery pack is 375 Km and 456 Km respectively.

This electric SUV comes with features like a 7-inch touchscreen system with 60+ connected car features, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, a single-pane sunroof, and push-button start-stop.

Mahindra XUV 400 also includes safety features like six airbags, cornering brake control, electronic stability control (ESC), and a rear parking camera.

Tata Nexon EV Prime comed with a 30.2kWh battery pack which powers a single electric motor. This electric motor produces 129PS and 245Nm. Tata claims a range of 312 KM for Tata Nexon EV Prime.
